The Hammers went down 2-1 at the London Stadium last week to leave their hopes of landing a first European trophy in 57 years in the balance. Ansgar Knauff and Daichi Kamada scored either side of a Michail Antonio equaliser to give the Bundesliga side the edge heading into the reverse fixture at Frankfurt Stadion.

Jarrod Bowen twice hit the woodwork on a night when luck deserted Moyes' men but the Scot says he has total belief that West Ham can reach a first European final in 46 years.

Frankfurt have only won one of their last 10 home games in all competitions and Moyes is in no doubt a place in the Europa League final at Sevilla's Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Wednesday 18 May is within his players' grasp.

He told reporters: "I don't think I learnt anything new about Frankfurt [from the first leg] because I knew about the style they play in.

"I thought the two teams were quite even on the night. We may see something different tomorrow night, but we think we've got as good an opportunity as them.

"We have to chase the game because we're one goal down, but in the same breath, they're the ones who have to protect it."

Oliver Glasner, the Frankfurt coach, warned of a tricky second leg and suggested his players will not sit back to try protect their slender lead.

He told reporters: "With our fans behind us, we're going for a win from the first second, and our approach has to be to challenge their defence. We need an even better performance than in the first leg." READ MORE: Six things you might not know about Manchester United target Christopher Nkunku
