The Euro 2020 knockout stage is underway, with the first last-16 games kicking off on Saturday night as Denmark and Italy reached the quarter-finals.

Denmark thrashed Wales 4-0 in Amsterdam, while Italy left it late with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Austria at Wembley.

On Sunday, the tournament got its first major upset as Czech Republic stunned the Netherlands with a 2-0 win in Budapest, before holders Portugal were dumped out by Belgium.

Spain struck twice in extra time in Copenhagen on Monday to beat Croatia 5-3 in an absolute classic, before Kylian Mbappe missed the decisive penalty as Switzerland stunned favourites France in a shootout after an equally dramatic 3-3 draw.

The group stages concluded on Wednesday with plenty of drama in Group F, and 24 teams have finally been whittled down to 16 nations for the next stage of the tournament.

England beat Germany in a huge clash at Wembley, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane seeing off the old enemies, before Ukraine beat Sweden late on.
