Everson Griffen's stunned sideline reaction to 'Minneapolis Miracle' was perfect

The reactions to Stefon Digg’s unlikely game-winning touchdown to send the Minnesota Vikings past the New Orleans Saints to the NFC championship game have been pouring in since late Sunday.

From the “Minneapolis Miracle” radio call to athletes on Twitter to Vikings fans losing their minds and their shirts in their homes, the responses have been almost as entertaining as the game itself.

But none, perhaps, live up to that of Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen, who’s sideline reaction was caught on video and released on Tuesday.

From his transition of sitting on the bench in despair to his immediate 180-degree turn to unbridled joy to the “wait-is-this-real?” look of stun on his face, Griffen’s reaction sums up that moment every kid who’s dreamed of being on the big sports stage imagines.

Those eyes, man. And C.J. Ham’s (No. 30) too-cool-for-school casual slap on the butt when he walks by Griffen in the midst of his losing his mind. It’s all perfect.

Whatever happens to the Vikings through the rest of the playoffs, everyone wearing purple on Sunday will have that moment to hold on to.
