Everton will sanction a “fire sale” if relegated and star forward Richarlison could join Man Utd or Arsenal for a fraction of his £50m value, claims one observer.

The Toffees have given themselves hope of avoiding the drop with three wins in their last four home matches. All three of those victories came via 1-0 score-lines with Richarlison bagging the winner against Chelsea last time out.

The Brazilian has been a shining light in recent months. His all-action displays have come at just the right time with Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggling for form since returning from injury.

However, Burnley’s revival under Mike Jackson has taken everyone by surprise. Fellow relegation-threatened side Leeds United too have improved since Jesse Marsch took charge.

Everton therefore still have work to do, and according to agent Rob Segal, relegation would wreak havoc within their squad.

Segal reckons a “fire sale” would be sanctioned with a host of Everton’s current stars on far higher wages than most players who go down.

Richarlison would arguably be Everton’s most saleable asset and reports have put his value at £50m – if their Premier League status is retained.

Man Utd and Arsenal are two clubs who are seeking reinforcements in the final third this summer.

Richarlison discussed at Old Trafford

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano previously confirmed Richarlison has been discussed internally at Old Trafford.

Arsenal, meanwhile, could be the ideal landing spot according to Tim Sherwood. The Gunners lost Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January and both Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are due to become free agents this summer.

Now, speaking to Caught Offside, agent Segal revealed he expects a mass exodus at Goodison Park if they fail to beat the drop. In his eyes, Everton would be forced into accepting far lower fees for their star players too.

“Another club that could soon have multiple players available is Everton,” said Segal.

“If the Toffees go down, there will be an absolute fire sale. The value of their players, who have massively underperformed this season, will plummet and they’ll basically be given away just to get them off the club’s books.

“There will be a huge re-think from the very top – lots will have to go.”

At 24-years-old, Richarlison could represent a gamble worth taking for one of England’s big hitters.

He has notched double figures across all competitions every season since he joined Everton. His tally this year stands at nine, though his current form would suggest that’ll soon become 10.

Football Insider claimed Everton may cash in to the tune of £50m even if they do survive. But at that price, the list of suitors might not be so long.

But if Segal is correct and the forward’s price is slashed upon relegation, United or Arsenal may find a summer swoop too good to ignore. His consistency year after year in the Premier League would suggest whoever does pounce won’t be left disappointed.
