Veteran goalkeeper Andy Lonergan has signed a new one-year deal to remain at Everton for the 2022-23 season.
The 38-year-old has played for 16 clubs throughout a lengthy career. However, he has acted as third-choice stopper with his last four teams.
That includes the Toffees, where he is yet to make an appearance for the first team.
Jordan Pickford and Asmir Begovic remain numbers one and two, as they were under Rafa Benitez and then Frank Lampard.
Lonergan is expected to carry on his role as veteran backup, with his experience there if required.
Everton have, however, allowed young stoppers Joao Virginia and Harry Tyrer to go out on loan to gain more experience.
Virginia has joined Dutch Eredivisie side SC Cambuur, while Tyrer has moved to Chester FC.
As for Lonergan, he also had a spell at Merseyside rivals Liverpool in 2019-20.
His last senior game came for Stoke City in the League Cup back in the 2020-21 campaign.
