Actor and famous Liverpool FC fan Daniel Craig has sent a heartfelt message to Jürgen Klopp as the German bids a final farewell to the Reds this evening.

At the M&S Bank Arena in the city center, a Q&A event involving Klopp, hosted by comedian John Bishop, took place, with music from The Lightning Seeds, The Zutons, and Alfie Boe. The crowd gave Klopp a huge welcome and then erupted in an emotional rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone.

But there were also special messages from famous Reds supporters including James Bond actor Craig. "In the few precious moments I spent with you, I said, hand on heart, that I would follow that man anywhere," he said.

"Thank you. Thank you for what you have done and achieved at Liverpool Football Club. It's been quite a ride. Your ability to cut through the b******t and get to the heart of what really matters has inspired me and millions of other people around the world. So wherever you go and whatever you do, I wish you and your family only joy."

After that message was played on a big screen, Klopp was also sent messages by Will Arnett, Trevor Noah and Paddy Pimblett. During the session on stage, the German described joining Liverpool as the best decision of his life.

"Okay, so now I've tried to put myself somehow in proper gear to say now for the last time, hopefully, goodbye," he said in a video posted on Instagram before the event.

"I'm pretty sure it will be a good event — again pretty emotional, but I think we are through the worst now. So we can have a good time and that's the plan. So I wish you as well — if you can see it — if you can watch it (I'm not sure if somebody shows it) a wonderful night as well. So let's go! So here we go, that's it. Ready for the party."

Liverpool.com says: It is clear what esteem the city holds Klopp in but the feeling is mutual. You couldn't find a better fit between a manager and a club. Arne Slot comes in with a great squad to work with but it is clearly also a tough act to follow.
