Ex-Home and Away star Sophie Dillman shares upsetting challenges
Former Home and Away star Sophie Dillman has shared some of the upsetting challenges she faced while working on the soap.
Dillman, who played Ziggy Astoni from 2017 until her exit earlier this year, is now a columnist for Yahoo! Lifestyle Australia and recently wrote an article detailing her time on the show.
Although the soap star admitted that working on Home and Away was the "best experience" she's ever had, she shared that she found the "lack of privacy" and "public scrutiny" difficult to handle.

"I’ve had my friends targeted and attacked by spineless keyboard warriors who have called them awful names, spread lies and threatened people in comments on my Instagram," she wrote.
"I’ve had embarrassing articles published about me (especially my appearance) that have resulted in me hysterically crying outside Woolworths at Westfield.
"Interviewers have asked me very outwardly inappropriate questions that I have had to navigate without crying or running away. In short, it can be really hard."

Despite these challenges, Dillman went on to say that working in television has given her "access to all kinds of opportunities".
She continued: "It has given me the privilege of meeting some incredible people who have shaped my career, advised me and inspired me to do better and be better.
"These incredible humans have made me feel included and important, in turn making me a better artist and hopefully a better human being. Creatives are the coolest people on earth."
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
