Ex-Real Madrid boss makes 'complex' Newcastle United verdict and high demands praise
Newcastle United are one of the most 'complex' sides in the Premier League, according to man who is plotting their downfall on Monday night. Julen Lopetegui brings his West Ham side to St James' Park for the final match of the Premier League weekend, fully aware of the size of the challenge ahead.
Eddie Howe' side boast a formidable home record and Lopetegui is a big admirer of what he has achieved on Tyneside. The Magpies come into the game on the back of the three-match winning streak in all competitions, and are hoping to push their European credentials with another home win.
The international break saw first England caps for full-backs Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, while Anthony Gordon scored his first Three Lions goal in the 5-0 win over the Republic of Ireland. United match flair with steel, with the likes of Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar not afraid to do the hard yards as well as expressing themsevles on the ball.

It adds up to what Lopetegui refers to a a 'complex' side and he has urged his West Ham players to compete against the in-form Magpies. They signed off for the international break with a goalless draw at Everton, and the Spaniard is confident of more improvements.
"We are ready for high demands," Lopetegui said. "In my opinion Newcastle are one of the most complex teams in the league. They have a lot of technical, physical and tactical quality. We have to be aware of that and be ready to compete, and that is what we are all working on.
"We were pleased with the second half against Everton, even though we were disappointed we didn't score the goal that we thought we deserved," he said.
"We looked more confident than the first half. We are looking to keep some things from that performances, and be stable and more consistent. Hopefully we can take belief into the Newcastle match."
Lopetegui will have midfielder Edson Alvarez will be available again from suspension and goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is closing in on a return Mohammed Kudus, though, continues to serve his own extended ban following a red card and subsequent misconduct charge from last month's defeat at Tottenham.
