Ex-skipper Mohammad Yousuf backs Pak as 'favourites' against Proteas in Test series

Karachi, Oct 9 (ANI): Former Pakistani captain Mohammad Yousuf has backed the current side as favourites against South Africa in the upcoming Test series. Yousuf captained Pakistan to victory over South Africa in the first Test of the 2003 series, which helped Pakistan win what is, to date, their only series triumph against the current world number one Test team. According to the Express Tribune, Yousuf believes that Pakistan are favourites against South Africa in the UAE as the conditions will be hot and uncomfortable for the African side, adding that Pakistan will have the advantage of spin-friendly wickets, just as they had against England last year. Yousuf however, said that had the venue for the series been Pakistan, then he would have had to revise his opinion as spinners do not get much help in Pakistan. (ANI)
