Exeter Chiefs lose key forward to three game ban after 'strike to the face'
Exeter Chiefs have been dealt a blow ahead of their return to the Gallagher Premiership and Champions Cup following confirmation one of their frontline forwards Josh Iosefa-Scott has been banned for three games for striking an opponent off the ball in Saturday's 54-3 win over Hartpury in the Premiership Rugby Cup
The report from the citing official outlined the incident in the second half as replacement tighthead prop Iosefa-Scott was penalised for his clear out at a ruck on full back Alex Morgan. Hartpury centre Robbie Smith then tapped the Chiefs forward on the bum and he reacted by 'striking the back to the face with some force and then follows this by grabbing the player by his shirt.'

A number of other players then got involved but no obvious acts of foul play took place. Iosefa-Scott was shown a yellow card immediately but grappled with the opposition before having to be shown the yellow card for a second time when he left the field.
The citing report said: 'The strike, possibly a punch, is a deliberate action which is direct to the face with some force.'
Iosefa-Scott pleaded guilty of the offence and has been banned for three games meaning he will miss next Friday's Premiership Rugby Cup game away at Gloucester, the Gallagher Premiership trip to the Recreation Ground to face league leaders Bath, and Chiefs' opening Investec Champions Cup away at the Hollywoodbet Sharks.
