Tottenham are readying a £15m move for Leeds Utd centre-back, Robin Koch, and a report claims two of the German’s teammates could follow him to north London.

Leeds Utd’s three-year return to the Premier League came to an end on Sunday. The Whites finished the campaign in 19th position and were jeered by the Elland Road faithful after the final whistle blew on a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham.

Defensive issues have plagued Leeds throughout their return to the top flight. Indeed, their mark of 78 goals conceded was the most in the league this season.

What’s more, their tally of 157 goals shipped over the last two campaigns is the most by any Premier League club over a two-season span.

As such, it comes as something of a surprise to see Spurs lining up a £15m move for Leeds defender, Robin Koch.

Football Insider bring news of Tottenham sizing up the Germany international who now looks ‘likely’ to leave.

Explaining why, it’s noted Leeds’ relegation, combined with the fact Koch only has one year left on his deal are relevant factors.

Furthermore, if Koch has any hope of earning a place in Germany’s Euro 2024 squad, he’ll likely have to be playing at a higher level than the Championship.

Koch was a £13m signing from Freiburg back in 2020 and while he’s not been able to transform Leeds’ defence, he has been among the club’s better performing defenders.

FI state Tottenham are ‘setting their sights’ on Koch and believe a cut-price £15m bid will be enough to seal a deal.

Spurs too have been beset by defensive issues this season. Ben Davies will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer arrives, while it’s still uncertain whether Clement Lenglet will be signed outright or return to Barcelona once his loan concludes.

Koch could be joined at Tottenham by Meslier, Harrison

Aside from Koch, Football Insider also talk up potential moves for goalkeeper Illan Meslier and winger Jack Harrison.

Of the two, Meslier would be the biggest surprise given the Frenchman’s dramatic loss of form this season.

Meslier finished the campaign warming the bench with ex-Everton veteran, Joel Robles, taking the gloves.

However, still aged only 23, Meslier may yet have a bright future. What’s more, Tottenham are understood to be considering moving on from Hugo Lloris who has presided over another error-strewn season.

Tottenham have been linked with Meslier in the past, most notably by the Athletic’s Leeds expert, Phil Hay.

However, a move on the back of a calamitous campaign would be an almighty risk for Tottenham who are also showing interest in Brentford’s wantaway keeper, David Raya. Between Meslier and Raya, the latter clearly represents the superior option for Spurs.

Harrison, meanwhile, could also form part of the anticipated Leeds exodus.

The lively winger, 26, would add pace and delivery to Spurs’ flanks if signed. Today’s Transfer Gossip brought news of Leeds being willing to cash in on Harrison in lieu of their relegation.

The speedster has been linked with Spurs and Leicester in the past. Indeed, the Foxes tried in vain to sign Harrison as recently as the January window.

But with Leicester also failing to beat the drop, it’s a move to Spurs that is now the most viable of the two.
