F1 2022 results: Monaco Grand Prix (Monte Carlo)

Here are the complete results from the Monaco Grand Prix, where Red Bull’s Sergio Perez has won his first race of the 2022 season.

Sergio Perez has won the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix, after a tense rain-affected race that was delayed by an hour due to the extent of the rainfall.

Perez capitalised upon an inspired call from Red Bull through the tyre changeovers to overcut the Ferrari drivers, with the Red Bull driver holding his nerve during the second half of the Grand Prix as he led a nose-to-tail snake of the chasing Ferraris and Max Verstappen.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz finished in second, right behind Perez, while Verstappen finished in third place to extend his championship lead over Charles Leclerc.

Leclerc, who started from pole position, fell down to fourth during the tyre changes, and was disconsolate to finish off the podium at his home race after such a strong starting position.
