Fabio Silva convinced he 'succeeded' at Rangers and Las Palmas loan transfer proves it
Fabio Silva believes he was a success at Rangers and his loan switch to Las Palmas proves it.
The Wolves striker joined the Spanish club earlier this summer to play alongside Scots Oli McBurnie and Scott McKenna. He'd had options to move elsewhere with Valencia and other clubs interested but he opted to make the move to Gran Canaria after his stint in Glasgow.
Silva hit six goals in 25 appearances for the Light Blues under Philippe Clement but was often utilised in the wide areas as opposed to a more conventional number nine role. Still, the Portuguese attacker reckons he did well at Ibrox and justified his move to La Liga as he was asked about his heavy £35million transfer fee Wolves paid FC Porto back in 2020.
"I was in Scotland last year and now I'm going to La Liga," he said. "I think I've succeeded. I've taken a step forward and I'm going to play against the best players in the world. My transfer fee is something that's in the past.
"I didn't force the club to pay that amount for me. I just did my job, as I always do. I'm 22 years old and I feel like I've done things well."
