Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano feels Tottenham will have a busy transfer window, as boss Antonio Conte may want to add three players into the mix.

Tottenham have been no strangers to splashing the cash during Conte’s tenure at the club. In the summer, the Italian spent more than £150million on new talent.

The likes of Cristian Romero – who was on loan last season – and Richarlison have been impactful. Romero has been influential at the back, and former Spurs man Jamie O’Hara feels the side are not the same when he does not play.

Richarlison has scored two goals and provided three assists in his 13 games as a Spurs player.

The side are in a good position, sitting third in the Premier League table.

They are also top of their Champions League group, and a win in their final group match would see them win the group.

It would be no surprise if Conte is given more backing in the January window. That would give him a good reason to sign a new deal and help the team to progress even further.

New stars in the side would no doubt allow for better performances from the north London outfit.

Romano tips Conte to have busy January

Transfer insider Romano feels that Spurs will make some improvements to their squad come the January window. Indeed, he feels there are areas that could use improvement in Conte’s side.

“I think there are many areas where Antonio wants the club to improve the squad,” he said on House of Champions.

“For example, centre-back – they need one more in 2023. Goalkeeper situation – Hugo Lloris is doing very well, but with his age, they will need one for the future. Also, in the midfield area, he wants something else for the future. So there are many, many areas where he wants new signings.”

Indeed, Spurs could be a new-look side, with much more quality in the squad during the second half of the season.

“Antonio is going to wait, for sure. January, something is going to happen. I expect Tottenham to sign a new player – one or two players in January,” Romano added.

While Romano says Spurs could add one or two stars, he mentioned three positions that need strengthening. Perhaps those will not all come in January, but they may be added soon.

Spurs could be in for good run

There is already a good deal of quality in the Tottenham side. Their current position in the league shows how strong of a squad they have.

Improvements will only make them stronger for the rest of the season.

If they add the right players, they could well continue to challenge at the top end of the table.

While they might not be able to challenge for the title this season, though there is always a chance, continued improvements will help them to do so in the near future.
