The family of a young girl whose picture went viral after her mother filmed her looking unimpressed are hoping to sell the image for thousands of dollars at auction.

Chloe Clem was two-years-old when her mother Katie filmed her hilarious reaction to a surprise Disneyland trip.

Ms Clem’s other daughter Lily started crying when she heard the good news, but then the camera pans to Chloe and she made her “little buck-toothed side-eye face” at the camera.

“The internet did the rest,” Ms Clem told the BBC.

Chloe, now 10, became an internet sensation, with the video being viewed more than 20 million times and her picture being used in memes for people expressing concern.

Now her family, who are from Utah, are selling her image as a non-fungible token (NFT), which allows internet content such as tweets or memes to be sold as if they were pieces of art.

The “artist” or creator of the original content can continue to own the copyright but the buyer of the NFT will own the “original”.

The Overly Attached Girlfriend meme has also sold for $411,000 (£300, 700). (Twitter)

In March, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey sold his first ever tweet for the equivalent of $2.9 million (£2.12 million) to a Malaysia-based businessman.

The Overly Attached Girlfriend meme has also sold for $411,000 (£300, 700).

Ms Clem says Chloe wants to buy a horse or build a Walt Disney World but the money will most likely be used to put her daughter through college.
