Fantasy Injury Updates: Tyreek Hill, Marquise Brown, Christian Kirk, among key Week 6 active/inactives

Sporting News

Fantasy football owners received bad news already this weekend with Davante Adams being announced out for Monday night, but Tyreek Hill might return after a long layoff, which would certainly be a boost to the WR rankings. Marquise Brown and Christian Kirk are also "questionable" for Week 6, and you can bet fantasy owners will want to know their fates before finalizing start 'em, sit 'em decisions. We'll have them here right up until kickoff.

Is Tyreek Hill playing Week 6?

UPDATE 2: Hill is officially ACTIVE.

UPDATE 1: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Hill is "trending toward playing".

Hill (shoulder) got in limited practices this week, and although NFL Network's Ian Rapoport already reported that Hill will suit up, Chiefs coach Andy Reid has said the star WR will be a game-time decision, and ESPN's Adam Schefter said reported early Sunday morning that Hill has a "serious chance" to play but will have to test his shoulder in pregame warm-ups.

Hill hasn't played since the first half of Week 1, but he's been practicing the past two weeks. With Sammy Watkins (hamstring) "doubtful", Hill has even more incentive to return. As long as he's active, he's a must-start WR1 against Houston. If he were out Demarcus Robinson, Mecole Hardman, and Byron Pringle would all get bumps in value and be startable in all formats. It's unlikely all will produce, but all have upside.

Marquise Brown injury update

UPDATE 2: Brown is officially OUT.

UPDATE 1: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday morning that Brown is not nexpected to play.

Brown (ankle) didn't practice this week, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh left open the door for him to still play against Cincinnati, saying the rookie receiver will be a game-time decision.

Brown managed a touchdown last week, but he was in and out the game because of his sore ankle. He's had just 22 yards in back-to-back games, so a week off wouldn't be the worst thing. If he is active, he'll be tough to sit because of the matchup, but he's a clear risk. Expect Willie Snead to pick up extra targets if Brown is out.

Is Christian Kirk playing Week 6?

UPDATE: Kirk is officially OUT.

Kirk (ankle) practiced all week but will still be a game-time decision for Sunday's late-afternoon game against Atlanta. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported early Sunday morning that Kirk is not expected to play.

Atlanta has been torched for big passing games by Tennessee and Houston in back-to-back weeks, so if Kirk is active, you'll want him in your lineup. He's averaging over nine targets per game and should see ample work against the Falcons. If he's out, KeeSean Johnson makes for a sneaky FLEX sleeper, especially in PPR formats.
