There are few excuses for not making your transfer this week in Fantasy Premier League.

Gameweek 16 is the final round before the World Cup and during the break managers are free to use up as many transfers as they wish, although you will still be allotted free transfers for the Christmas period if you hold off now.

Furthermore, if you have a wildcard left for the first half of the season, you must play it now - or lose it. Saturday’s deadline comes at 11am GMT and here are our tips for your team.

James Maddison - Leicester - £8.2m

Has scored seven or more points in four of his last seven games, and a trip to West Ham after their poor defeat to Crystal Palace should be a good opportunity for the England hopeful to boost his World Cup chances.

Gabriel Magalhaes - Arsenal - £5.1m

The Brazilian will have a point to prove - and no reason to hold back - after a World Cup snub and heads to a Wolves team who are the lowest home team scorers in the league. In the goals too after his winner at Chelsea.

Antony - Manchester United - £7.5m

The midfielder has hit two goals in his three Premier League away games and should return from injury by the weekend. Fulham can be expected to break down United’s defences but only Southampton have conceded more home goals.

Ivan Perisic - Tottenham - £5.5m

After looking like an early FPL favourite, the Croatian has fallen out of form to a degree. Worth a punt however against Leeds at home having been played in attack last time out and, even as a left wing-back, his retains plenty of value as a defender - where he is second on the game’s ‘ICT Index’ of... err, indexness?

Erling Haaland - Manchester City - £12.1m

He’s back from injury, he scores goals. Normal service resumed. You know the drill.
