Manchester United have reportedly told interested clubs to pay £80million for Marcus Rashford with his contract set to expire next year.

The 25-year-old has been at United since 2005 but is about to enter the final six months of his contract.

There are plenty of clubs sniffing around as they hope to land him on a free transfer.

However, the Red Devils have the option to extend the England forward’s contract by a further year.

Despite this, they find themselves in a precarious position with Rashford yet to commit his long-term future to his boyhood club.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be interested, and you’d be as well throwing Barcelona into the mix given their urge to sign free agents.

In order to sweeten the potential exit of Rashford, United have reportedly told clubs to pay £80m if they want him.

This is according to the Daily Star, who say Erik ten Hag’s side ‘fear’ they may be forced to sell the England international.

Madrid are ‘front of the queue’ as they seek a successor to Karim Benzema.

Los Blancos have apparently ‘long been admirers’ of Rashford, but there is a £300,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford on the table for the player to sign.

The Red Devils will listen to offers if Rashford does not renew, however.

PSG were keen on signing Rashford last summer but could not strike an agreement with United.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has discussed the United forward, saying they could make a move if he is available as a free agent.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s another player that is really amazing. And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.”

Al-Khelaifi added: “We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?

“Today if he’s a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”

Rashford is currently preparing for a huge World Cup quarter-final against France.

England topped Group B ahead of the United States, Iran and Wales before brushing aside African champions Senegal 3-0 in the last 16.

Rashford has one of the best goal-per-game ratios in the competition having scored three times in only one start.

Despite netting a brace against Senegal, the United star found himself on the bench against Senegal, making way for Bukayo Saka to return to Gareth Southgate’s starting XI.
