Patients suffering from Long Covid need more information about how to manage their condition, a study has claimed.

Patient group Healthwatch Norfolk has conducted new research into Long Covid, surveying people who have suffered long-term effects of the virus.

And it has sparked calls for people to be given more information about where they can find help and for peer support groups to be established.

It found that almost half of the participants said they were worried the condition was not being taken seriously enough.

Alex Stewart, chief executive of Healthwatch Norfolk, said: "Long Covid is here to stay and has an impact on many people's lives.

"Because it is still a relatively new condition, we understand that information about it is being gathered but our research found a definite need to make sure people know where to find help.

"It was important that the voice of those with Long Covid is factored into the creation of more information and there was also a really constructive suggestion of those with it supporting each other in different ways and sharing their own experiences."
