Featherstone Rovers have signed Jack Ashworth from Huddersfield on a short-term loan deal.

Ashworth, 26, came through the St Helens academy and was a part of their Grand Final winning side in 2019, named on the bench against Salford.

He joined Huddersfield in 2021 and has made nine appearances for the Giants. He has made a total of 49 Super League appearances, scoring four tries.

The forward will link up with the Championship side this week ahead of their home clash with Batley.

Head coach Brian McDermott said: “We’ve recognised the need to bolster our pack with injuries having taken their toll in recent weeks.

“Jack is a strong ball carrier and defender and will fit into our system well.”

Ashworth’s deal is initially short-term with a view to extending, the club has confirmed.
