Federico Chiesa makes Serie A transfer decision after limited Liverpool game time
Federico Chiesa is reportedly keen to remain at Liverpool despite his lack of game time since moving to Anfield last summer.
The Italian winger was viewed as an opportunistic addition to the Reds' squad in August, as he was available for a relatively small fee after being frozen out by new Juventus manager Thiago Motta. However, the move has not worked out so far, with Chiesa having appeared just six times for his new club, with only one of those outings coming from the start.
That has led to links with a possible return to Italy with Napoli, which is in the market for a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following the Georgian's move to Paris Saint-Germain, but journalist Valter De Maggio told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli that the 27-year-old is keen to make a go of his Liverpool career.

“Federico Chiesa’s name can be crossed off the list of possible replacements for Kvaratskhelia [at Napoli]," De Maggio said. "From a direct source, Chiesa is very happy in Liverpool, he is happy, he will not move. Liverpool also will not sell him, neither permanently nor on loan. Therefore Chiesa will not be Kvaratskhelia’s heir. [Alejandro] Garnacho is the first choice overall, [Napoli sporting director Giovanni] Manna is working on it”.
Chiesa made his first Premier League appearance since September on Saturday as Arne Slot turned to the winger with Liverpool chased a winning goal against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The winger was involved in Liverpool's second goal of the game as he played the ball through to Harvey Elliott, who then found Darwin Nunez for the Uruguayan to lash home and secure all three points for the travelling Reds.
Earlier this month, Chiesa scored his first goal for Liverpool, driving the ball into the bottom corner from distance after emerging as a second-half substitute during the FA Cup third-round victory over Accrington Stanley.
