There are just seven games of the Super League season remaining, with Wakefield and Toulouse sitting level on points at the bottom of the table.
Toulouse sit just above Wakefield in the table right now on points difference, with each side on 10 points having won five games in 2022.
Sylvain Houles’ Toulouse were favourites to get relegated before a ball was kicked this season, having won promotion from the Championship last term.
However, they have proved to be stiff competition in the top flight, even claiming their first win against champions St Helens on home soil.
Wakefield were six points ahead of Toulouse in the table at one point, and looked to be in a relatively comfortable position. However, they have been dragged into the relegation mix with Toulouse having won games against Hull KR, Wakefield and Leeds.
The last seven games of the Super League season are massive for Wakefield and Toulouse.
Wakefield have to play champions Saints and Challenge Cup holders Wigan. They also need to play Cup finalists Huddersfield away.
As for Toulouse, they have a crucial home game coming up against Hull. After that, they are away for three consecutive games against Hull KR, Warrington and Wigan.
Wakefield and Toulouse are both away for the final two games of the season. Willie Poching’s men travel to St Helens and Huddersfield, whilst Houles will take his side to Hull and St Helens.
