The Final Four is finally here.
South Carolina and Gonzaga kick things off in Phoenix, Ariz., in the hunt for the national championship. Both teams are brand new to the big stage— neither the Gamecocks nor the Zags have ever been to a Final Four before— so tonight's game will be a test of talent as well as nerves.
After 18years at the helm of the Bulldogs, Mark Few is finally getting a taste of the Final Four. Few and Gonzaga are led by guards Nigel Williams-Goss, the team's leading scorer, and Johnathan Williams, arguably the Zags' best player so far this tournament. The Bulldogs also have a reliable big man in Przemek Karnowski, who is a big reason why Gonzaga is the No. 1 defense in the country, per KenPom.
Frank Martin and South Carolina are the Cinderella story of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Led by senior guard Sindarius Thornwell, the Gamecocks took down Duke, Baylor and Florida with its staunch defense, ranked No. 2 in the country by KenPom. Thornwell has been the headline name for South Carolina, but PJ Dozier and Chris Silva have had great tournaments so far, too.
