A five-bedroom home with countryside views from each one of its three floors has come up for sale for offers in excess of £880,000.

The property, known as The Stables, is located in Burgh St Peter, near Beccles, and sits in over an acre of land. It has been a much-loved family home for almost 30 years.

It was originally built in 1920 by a local farming family, but since its new – and current – owner bought it in 1996, it has seen four children grow up there, with the youngest due to fly the nest next year.

Its current owner, who does not want to be named, says it’s been a fantastic place to bring up a family and has carried out extensive renovations to the property over the past eight years.

This has included adding an en suite to the master bedroom, which was completed just last year, and extending the kitchen to create a much larger, more sociable living area – complete with countryside views.

The space now features a designated dining area and a central island with a built-in breakfast bar, as well as integrated appliances and a utility area and pantry.

Much of the property has, in fact, been designed around its views, which look out over the Waveney Valley towards Herringfleet and Somerleyton.

“In its position it’s like living in your own personal nature reserve!” says its owner, who says you can sit on the patio or see from the kitchen mother nature “at her very best”.

Wild deer, owls, foxes, hares and spectacular bird life such as marsh harriers, red kite, heron and even a stork have all been spotted from the property – although the owner’s current favourite are ‘the girls’ - nearby Wheatacre Hall Farm’s cows, which graze on the marshes in the summer.

Alongside the modern kitchen/diner, accommodation includes an entrance hall, study, sitting room and garden room, with five double bedrooms – including an en suite - and a cloakroom and shower room arranged over the two floors above.

According to a spokesperson for selling agents, Starkings & Watson, the views “get better” the higher you go, with the second floor home to some of the best views the property offers.

The gardens and grounds extend to just over an acre and wrap around, with flower beds, trees and shrubs plus an area allocated for a small rose garden.

Through a picket gate, to the rear, there is a small orchard and next to the garage, which is fully fitted with power and light, there is a vegetable patch – perfect for those who want to enjoy a taste of The Good Life.

The grounds also include a stable block comprising five stables, a wood store and tack room.

The property is located around a mile from Aldeby, which has a pub, village hall, post office and Wheatacre Hall Farm Pantry and around a quarter of a mile from the Waveney River Centre.
