The Philadelphia Flyers will be without Sean Couturier for the next 4-6 weeks after he suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday night’s win over the Florida Panthers. Scott Laughton has been called up from the AHL.

Couturier suffered the injury early in the second period after he collided with Vincent Trocheck.

The loss is a big one for the Flyers. Not only is Couturier a dependable two-way player who can eat minutes on the power play and penalty kill, but he’s also one of the better possession players among the team’s forwards with a 54.5 percent Corsi rating, per Hockey Analysis.

Oh, and Philly is also not tremendous down the middle outside of Couturier and Claude Giroux, so that means others will have to step up to in his absence.
