Footage emerges of Jamie Carragher being bombarded with vile abuse from Man City fans at motorway services
Footage has emerged of Jamie Carragher being bombarded with vile abuse from Manchester City fans at a motorway service station.
The video, which is circulating on social media, appears to show the former Liverpool player making an obscene gesture in response to the verbal onslaught.
Carragher was believed to be making his way home on Sunday evening after being part of Sky Sports’ television coverage of City’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal in London.
The away supporters can be heard shouting a string of disgusting language at the Anfield legend, including “Scouse c***” and “Scouse b*****d”.

Carragher, who is some distance from the person recording the incident, turns to respond to the mob before disappearing into the Moto service station.
It comes five months after Carragher was filmed spitting at a car after being subjected to more goading.
He apologised for the unsavoury event but was suspended from his role as a pundit on Sky and was only permitted to return from the resumption of the Premier League last week.
Police confirmed they had recorded the incident as an assault but decided no action would be taken against the ex-footballer because it was not in the public interest.
