FOOTBALL: Proof of just how far Freddy Adu's career has fallen
Former teenage sensation Freddy Adu has had a rapid fall from footballing grace, and he's just provided further prof of that last night.
It hasn't gone to plan for former football star Freddy Adu.
After creating worldwide headlines when he signed for MLS side DC United in 2004 aged 14, and playing 17 teams for the USA national side, his career hasn't come close to matching those early highs.
Since then he's played for 13 professional clubs including brief stints in Brazil, Monaco, Serbia, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and Finland.
He currently plays in the USA's second-tier North American Soccer League with the Tampa Bay Rowdies - and it appears, acts as a spokesperson for Hoover USA.

Unsurprisingly Twitter was not kind in its reaction:

@FreddyAdu @mattyhew96 @HooverUSA Should've stuck to Football Manager 2005, chief. All been downhill since then.
