Beckford, who fractured a knuckle on his left hand on his debut for Jamaica in Friday's 1-1 draw with Panama, started the game and played with the aid of a splint.

Beckford's Huddersfield team-mate Theo Robinson, on loan from Derby, made his third appearance for the Reggae Boyz as a second-half substitute.

But Jamaica have taken only one point from their first three qualifying matches and have slipped to the bottom of their group.

Town defender Joel Lynch and midfielder Oliver Norwood were both unused substitutes for Wales and Northern Ireland respectively in their World Cup qualifying defeats.

Wales lost 2-1 to Croatia in Swansea and Northern Ireland were beaten 2-0 by Israel at Windsor Park in Belfast.

Huddersfield manager Mark Robins is expecting all four players, plus Scotland Under-21 international Murray Wallace, to be in contention for Saturday's home game with Hull.
