Football - Bruce is big doubt for Tigers

Hull defender Alex Bruce is a major doubt for the midweek home game with Derby due to a dead leg.

Bruce sustained the injury during the first half of Saturday's defeat at Brighton and was replaced by Corry Evans, who is expected to keep his place in the side.

Fellow defender Abdoulaye Faye missed out at the weekend and is not expected back for another two weeks due to a calf problem, so Jack Hobbs will retain his place, while recent Egyptian signing Ahmed Fathi is not yet match fit.

The second Egyptian to arrive at Hull on transfer deadline day, striker Gedo, was a second-half substitute at Brighton, but is not ready for a full 90 minutes and will start on the bench again.

Leading goalscorer Sone Aluko, sidelined for the past two months with an Achilles injury, is not expected back for at least another weeks as Hull chase their first home win of the year.
