Leeds have confirmed they have agreed an extended contract with teenage defender Sam Byram.

The 19-year-old, who has burst on to the first-team scene at Elland Road this season, is set to sign a new deal to keep him at the club until June 2016.

Byram, the only ever-present in manager Neil Warnock's squad since making his first-team debut on the opening-day of the season, has been the subject of plenty of speculation over his future in recent weeks, with Everton, Norwich and Fulham all linked with a move for the Thorp Arch academy product.

He was only handed his first professional deal in the summer and made his senior debut in the Capital One Cup win over Shrewsbury in August.

His league debut against Wolves followed a week later and Byram then signed an improved three-year deal two days after that.
