Johnson was sent off in the 82nd minute of the 0-0 draw against Newcastle at Carrow Road after an off-the-ball scuffle with Magpies striker Loic Remy.

Remy was also shown a red card by referee Chris Foy because of the flare-up, in which the pair squared up to each other and engaged in a bout of pushing.

Norwich said in a statement on Twitter: "We can confirm that the club have appealed against the red card received by Bradley Johnson in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle United."
