The Clarets have not won against Rovers since 1979 and have seen late equalisers deny them on each of the previous two occasions - with David Dunn's last-gasp, controversial leveller at Ewood Park last March particularly heart-wrenching.
However, with Sean Dyche able, if he desires, to name the same starting XI for an eighth straight fixture, Burnley appear well primed to finally get one over their neighbours.
Dyche will check on those who returned from international duty, including 46-goal strike duo Sam Vokes and Danny Ings, but no injury problems are envisioned.
