The 37-year-old struck 21 goals as the Grecians narrowly missed out on the play-offs, edging him to within three goals from the 250 milestone.

Back for a second spell with the St James Park outfit Cureton hit the ground running with 16 goals before the turn of the year.

And he continued to find the back of the net during the second half of the campaign and finished second to Port Vale's Tom Pope in the race for the golden boot.

Meanwhile Exeter captain Danny Coles was his team-mate's pick as the outstanding player this season. The former Bristol Rovers man was announced as the players' player of the year award at the club's award ceremony on Sunday night.
