Football - Dyche: We deserved more

Burnley manager Sean Dyche felt his men were desperately unfortunate not to take something from the 1-0 defeat at Brighton.

Despite playing well, the Clarets were downed by David Lopez's first-half winner.

Dyche said: "We deserved something, absolutely. There is a real positive feel now because we need performances like that.

"You win games with displays like that and to come here and perform like that was very pleasing.

"There were so many good things, like the way we dominated the ball and created chances. It`s a positive sign for us."

Burnley have now not won in five games but Dyche has not given up on their play-off challenge and believes they will be aided by playing with greater freedom in their remaining games.

He added: "We`ve played two play-off contenders in the past week and have only had two draws in our last five games so you need consistency and a rub of the green.

"Our last two performances have deserved more. You just need to keep playing well which we are.

"The shackles have come off now and the freedom which we showed will benefit us in the run-in."
