Football - Eagles clash is not a normal game - Poyet

Boss Gus Poyet admitted Brighton's play-off semi-final against arch-rivals Crystal Palace would not be a "normal" game.

Poyet is determined to adopt a relaxed approach despite all the hype and expectation following Albion's highest finish for 30 years.

Following a 2-0 win against Wolves in which Kazenga LuaLua scored twice, Poyet said: "It is not a normal game. How can you make this into a normal game of football? I will be trying my best to think only about football.

"What it comes down to is two games. We`ll have a great go."

Poyet said it was a source of real pride that his side had finished the regular season with the best defensive record in the Championship.

He added: "In the context of the play-offs that is key. We are a difficult side to beat. We are certainly one of the teams in the best form having gone nine games unbeaten.

"It was a perfect game for us because we kept a clean sheet and have conceded the least goals in the division."

Poyet revealed that former Newcastle winger LuaLua was surprised to get a call-up after breaking a finger in training on Wednesday.

He said: "Kazenga broke his finger and it looked painful but he said it wasn`t. It really was a game for him and to score so early really set up him. He was delighted when I told him he was playing and he responded perfectly."
