Premier League - Fer: We are starting to gel

Norwich midfielder Leroy Fer has warned there will be plenty more to come from Chris Hughton's new-look side this season - starting at Tottenham on Saturday.

The Canaries recovered from the disappointment of defeat at newly-promoted Hull to thrash Bury in the Capital One Cup before recording a first Barclays Premier League win over Southampton and headed into the international break in confident mood.

Dutchman Fer - nicknamed 'the bouncer' for his combative approach - was one of half-a-dozen new arrivals at Carrow Road this summer as Hughton's £20million spending spree aimed to assemble a squad capable of holding their own once again.

Norwich head to White Hart Lane aiming to continue their unbeaten record there since promotion in 2011, and Fer sees no reason why the Canaries cannot step things up again as the group slowly mould into an effective unit.

"We are still getting to know each other, but in training, you can see everybody is getting to know each other better so that is really good for the team," Fer said.

"We are starting to gel and that can only be good for the next few games.

"It has been a very good start. We have played three games and got four points - at Hull City we could have had the three points as well.

"It was really important we got up and running against Southampton with the win because with the two weeks off, it is always important to win those games before the break.

"We have to carry on and with Tottenham, hopefully we get another point or the win."

Fer added in the Eastern Daily Press: "Tottenham away is going to be a really tough game and it is a hindrance with so many players away (on international duty), but it is the same for Spurs.
