Nacho Novo has been linked with a return to Rangers

The Light Blues boss has made no secret of his desire to make a number of acquisitions, albeit a transfer embargo means he must wait until September 1 to register free agents and January 2014 to buy players.

Nacho Novo has revealed he would love to seal a return to the club when his contract with Huesca in his native Spain expires at the end of the season.

And fellow former striker Hateley said: "Nacho is a terrific guy and he's a fit guy. I spoke to him this morning and he was excited about coming back for the Legends game (against Manchester United) and what he thinks could be his future."

He added: "That's what this football club does to you; it always seems to draw you back to it.

"Nacho at 34, with no major injuries, never say never."

Hateley believes already understanding the demands to succeed at Rangers is one advantage for any player who does return to Ibrox.

He added: "What you do get from players who have already played for the club is a sense of responsibility and the expectations and what the club is all about.

"If Ally wants to go down that route of bringing players back to settle in around a younger set-up, I would say that's a great idea.

"The expectation is the most difficult thing to get your head around as a young player or even as an established player."

Fans have also been speculating about the prospect of other ex-stars, such as Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd, making a dramatic return to Rangers.
