The SPL's top scorer hobbled off with an ankle injury during the second half of the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road last Sunday, when Hibs advanced to the fifth-round of the William Hill Scottish Cup at the expense of holders Hearts.
Manager Pat Fenlon said: "Leigh - we'll just see how he is tomorrow (Friday). If he's not right we won't be risking him on Saturday."
There is brighter news ahead of the busy festive programme, with midfielder Gary Deegan (jaw), captain James McPake (back) and his fellow defender Tim Clancy (groin) set to return soon following lay-offs.
"We're a little bit short defensively," Fenlon added.
"We're hoping Gary will play on Tuesday in an under-20 game, which will be fantastic for us to get him back in the squad.
"We're hopeful James will get back training next week. Tim may be 10 days, two weeks away from getting into full training.
"They're all making good progress."
