James Vaughan grabbed a hat-trick while Adam Hammill and Adam Clayton were also on target with Marc Pugh hitting the Cherries' consolation.

Robins said: "We have beaten a good team.

"I know it is easy to say that but Bournemouth play good football and caused us problems.

"Eddie (Howe) is a bright young manager and Bournemouth were a threat. It was a good day for us."

Robins also hailed Vaughan's hot scoring streak, adding: "As a striker I can empathise with how he's feeling.

"He is loving it right now and deserves all the success. He is working very hard and concentrating on his game and he is getting his due rewards."

Robins has changed how the Terriers play and his new passing style is starting to win over the doubters.

"It's interesting to listen to the fans," said Robins. "At times they need to be patient but they can see what we are trying to do."
