Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth watched his side claim a third consecutive victory with a 2-0 home success over Accrington, but warned his troops not to rest on their laurels.

Goals from Troy Brown and Dani Lopez were enough to make it two league wins on the trot against relegation rivals after they beat Barnet last time out.

With an FA Cup win against Rotherham sandwiched in between their recent mini-league revival, Holdsworth was a happy man, but still declared a desire for some new signings.

"We've got to push now, I want a few players in to push these ones," he said. "We've been through our hardest patch and come through it.

"It's not easy, but I tell you what, they say football finds out if you've got character and the players still here have shown they've got it. We're scoring goals, winning games, it's a different place.

"Yes, Accrington are sucked into it but I look at us, not others. Is it relevant to us?

"Yes we knew we could get closer to them and we have two games in hand, but I want to influence what I can and I'm doing it the best way I can.

"The players know how much it means to me to see them put the effort in and they're doing it.

"We can't affect other peoples' results. It's about consistency, know-how and experience and we have all of that.

"The players here know where we want to go and what we want to achieve. They know there's a job to be done and they're up for it."
