He suffered the injury scare during Saturday's 3-1 npower Championship defeat to Sheffield Wednesday following a collision with Owls defender Reda Johnson. Jakupovic received lengthy treatment on the pitch and was subsequently carried off deep into stoppage time at the KC Stadium.
The incident occurred as Johnson attacked Miguel Llera's late corner which Jakupovic inexplicably dropped over the line, giving Wednesday the lead after Robert Koren had equalised eight minutes from time.
Substitute goalkeeper Mark Oxley donned the gloves as Jakupovic was taken to the dressing room in a neck brace for further treatment, with Tigers boss Steve Bruce telling the club's official website after the match: "He didn't look too good in the dressing room. It looks like a facial injury."
However, on Sunday City released a statement from their head of medical services Rob Price, which read: "Eldin received treatment for a facial injury on the pitch, and was taken to the stadium's medical room on a spinal board as a precaution.
"At no time did Eldin suffer any loss of consciousness, and he was completely responsive throughout. He was then taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for further examination, where all results thankfully came out as normal. Hull City AFC would like to thank all paramedics involved and medical staff at Hull Royal Infirmary for their work yesterday."
Wednesday's second goal had come just four minutes after Hull had drawn level thanks to Koren's header, which cancelled out Johnson's first-half opener for the visitors.
Wednesday made sure of the points in the seventh minute of injury time when Michail Antonio raced clear and rolled home, handing City their first defeat in nine league outings.
