"Week in, week out we're creating chances and we have to stick them in," he said. "Going in at half-time at 0-0, they'll have been really happy because they'd feel they weathered the storm.
"It's been like a revolving door since pre-season with the amount of trialists and signings we've had in. We haven't been able to get certain targets so we've had to go into the loan market.
"That's not always the best way but we just have to try and gel this team together.
"We know what's lacking. We need a proper target man but we must have made 50 phone calls and we're not getting the player we need. It might be that, come January, we have to identify a player and pay for them.
"But we'll get there and these lads are quite honest lads. We just need a leader to grab us by the scruff of the neck and drive us forward."
