Villa spent much of the season fighting against relegation, eventually finishing five points above the drop zone thanks to a run of five wins from their last 10 games.
Lambert has put his faith in the club's young players and the experience they have gained is fuelling the manager's sense of optimism heading into the summer break.
He said: "Some of the lads now have played over 30 Premier League games, so they'll know what to expect next year. It augurs well for the future. The philosophy is set for the future and we'll keep driving it on.
"You have to start on the front foot every game, you can't relax in the Premier League, it's a very demanding league."
