The Latics secured their npower League One survival with a 2-1 home victory against Crawley on Saturday and Johnson has signalled his intentions to keep their momentum going with a win against the Shrews.

Jose Baxter will be hoping to force his way into Johnson's plans however after being made to settle for a spot on the subs bench against Richie Barker's men on his return from suspension.

Cliff Byrne remains a doubt due to a groin injury while James Wesolowski is unlikely to feature due to a knee problem.

James Tarkowski is definitely ruled out for the season with a knee injury of his own.

Victory would see the Latics record their fourth consecutive league win, their best run since August 2008.
