Football - Long confident of European qualification

Striker Shane Long insists West Brom have "a good enough squad" to qualify for Europe but believes the return of midfield duo Claudio Yacob and Youssouf Mulumbu is crucial to their hopes.

Back-to-back wins over Liverpool and Sunderland have reignited Albion's hopes and they are just two points behind sixth-placed Everton ahead of Saturday's visit to Chelsea.

But Long admits the reuniting of Yacob and Mulumbu after injury and African Nations Cup duty respectively is a key factor.

When asked about Albion's chances of reaching the Europa League, Long said: "We may as well aim for it. I think we've got a good enough squad to do it.

"We've a few tough games between now and the end of the season but we managed to win at Liverpool and put in a good performance at Manchester United.

"We go to Chelsea after nearly winning there last year so hopefully we can get a good result and kick on from there but it is not going to be easy.

"You look at their line-up. We are not getting ahead of ourselves.

"We know it will be a tough task but we are confident in the way we are playing and we can put up against any team."
