Football - Moore relishing Di Canio

Ronnie Moore is looking forward to his first managerial encounter against Paolo Di Canio when Tranmere travel to Swindon on Friday night.

Moore's npower League One leaders are looking to open up a three-point gap at the summit ahead of the weekend fixtures, while Swindon can close to within two points of the top with victory.

"It should be interesting - he's a bit of a character around the dugout area," Moore told Press Association Sport.

"But that's the enthusiasm that the guy has got. He loves football, you can see that with his passion.

"People are different in the ways they show it - some are quiet, some shout and scream but you can certainly see that he's got the passion and the will to win, that's for sure, and he's inspired that into his team."

Tranmere have held on to top spot despite going five games without a win but Moore insists there are no plans to curb their natural attacking tendencies at the County Ground.

He added: "We know it's going to be a tough game, there's no doubt about that, but we'd like to think that they're thinking it will be just as tough for them as well.

"We'll be setting out to attack, not to defend. We don't go anywhere to defend.

"We like to be positive, we like to be brave and we like to get at teams.

"So I can see it being a nice open game with one or two goals in it."
