Steven Mouyokolo left Wolves in January

The former Hull and Wolves defender, who was released from an injury-hit spell at Molineux in January, put in a solid display alongside new signing Virgil van Dijk and then Kelvin Wilson in central defence in the German town of Fuerstenfeldbruk.

Celtic went down to a soft free-kick from Kostiantyn Iaroshenko midway through the second half which left Fraser Forster angry with himself for his failure to keep it out.

The Englishman had made several good stops previously, but the curling effort from 25 yards went to the side of the goal he was guarding and appeared to go through his hands.

Portuguese striker Amido Balde also played and forced a good second-half save from the goalkeeper of the Ukrainian second-tier champions after some strong play in the box, but failed to make the most of a couple of first-half opportunities.

Wilson volleyed wide a late chance to equalise as the referee inexplicably played almost 10 minutes of injury-time.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon also handed run-outs to youngsters such as right-back Darnell Fisher and midfielders Liam Henderson and Calum Waters.
