Football - Mowbray waits on wounded

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray will run the rule over his walking wounded before naming his team for the npower Championship showdown with Brighton.

Central defender Jonathan Woodgate has been monitored all week after suffering concussion in a first-half clash of heads during last weekend's 1-0 defeat at Hull.

He was taken to hospital on Humberside, but released after being looked over and will be assessed over the next 48 hours.

Mowbray will also await news of midfielder Kieron Dyer (hamstring) and strikers Emmanuel Ledesma (ankle) and Marvin Emnes (hamstring), with all three fighting to be fit.

However, full-back George Friend's hamstring problem is likely to rule him out for the remainder of the season, a fate which has already befallen midfielder Julio Arca (toe).
