Football - North End out to rewrite history

Unbeaten Preston will have the same squad to chose from as they chase a first win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in nearly 35 years.

PA Sport Report

North End have not beaten the Blades in the Steel City since November 1978, a remarkable winless run of 17 games, yet they seem well-placed to end that streak given the respective sides' starts to the season.

Once again the only absentee from Simon Grayson's squad will be forward Jack King (foot) as the boss attempts to guide Preston to their first win over Sheffield United since he was in the primary school.

Grayson has shown a penchant for tinkering with his starting XI this term and midfielder Lee Holmes will be among those hoping for a starting berth.
