Football - Plenty of positives for Pedersen

Barnsley striker Marcus Pedersen believes both he and David Flitcroft's side are improving fast following a poor start to the season.

Norway international Pedersen scored his second goal since his summer arrival on loan from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem in Saturday's 1-1 draw with local rivals Sheffield Wednesday.

The point kept Barnsley off the bottom of the Championship table following eight defeats in their first 13 matches.

"It was nice to score a goal in a derby," said Pedersen, who has only recently returned from a foot injury.

"It's always fun to play in a derby. Of course you want to get three points, you can see it's a classic derby with plenty of duels.

"Hopefully we can get some confidence from this game.

"We should win at home but still, it was a fair result, I think.

"We can go to Ipswich with a bit more confidence.

"I feel I'm getting 100 per cent back, but I need to improve my fitness and we are getting better and better."
